Nothing tastes better when eating out on these cold days then a nice hot cup or bowl of French Onion Soup.
Well now you can bring this recipe to your own kitchen once you have gotten your own copy of "A Stir in The Mist."
I have tried many other recipes for this soup and not one has come even close to tasting as scrumptious as this one.
I know I have said on my other posts that the recipes are quick, easy and cheap. This one has to be by far the quickest for such a great taste. Price wise, the most expensive ingredient is the cheese and all you need is a little chunk of mozzarella or a bag of shredded mozzarella.
I added a little swiss cheese to have a little variation and you will then need like 8 slices,

Thats it!!!
Get your tissues ready! I did not use the little trick in the cookbook that says to put the onions in the freezer before cutting, I just went ahead and toughed it out. I was tearing up after the 4th onion.

Once you sautee your onions, you will add the rest of your ingredients. The recipe calls for beef bouillon granules, I only had the cubes in my cupboard. I did the measurements and If you are using the cubes, use 6-7 of them. This will equal out to your 1/4 cup.
Make sure the bowls you will be putting under the broiler are oven safe!!!
Once they are filled with your soup you can now top with the french bread and your cheeses and broil away! Keep a close eye on it, they heat up quick. The nice part about making this soup in your own kitchen vs. eating it at a restaurant, your version will be very hot and fresh , whereas the restaurants is usually luke warm and has been sitting in a pot all day. So take your time and enjoy like Marco and I have.
Now keep in mind this French Onion Soup recipe has the word "Easy" in front of it NOT "Healthy". So throw that diet out the door for one day and enjoy!
